Lover (my FI, I always refer to him as Lover on the net) and I have wanted to do a destination wedding in the US. Originally the idea was Maui but my mother refused to fly the 14 hours to the destination. I have such a small family and it was just not an option for her not to be there. So we've compromised on Florida and after weeks of searching for the perfect venue, I found the Ritz-Carlton at the Grandes Lakes which is perfect for us.
So have asked the few family I have and friends and have some provisional yes's for attendees. This has hindered the process of decided on a wedding party a little, I need people to book things before I make them bridesmaids no? I think we'll have between 15-20 guests which is great.
As mentioned, I have never had any sort of idea on what my wedding would be and I don't have much of a visual creative streak in me, I just approve of things and favour a look rather than a desire to have the day "reflect us". The day will be the day and I guess it will represent itself.
If there had to be a theme, I'd favour traditional untraditionalism! As for colours we're looking to have blue (to match Lover's waistcoat) and white rose ivory.
